yī zhī wū yā jí dù xǐ què shuō ： “ zhēn shì bù gōng píng ，一只乌鸦嫉妒喜鹊说：“真是不公平，

A crow, envious of a magpie, said, "It's truly unfair.

nǐ men xǐ què de jiào shēng hé wǒ men wū yā de jiào shēng yī yàng de nán tīng ，

你们喜鹊的叫声和我们乌鸦的叫声一样的难听，

The screeching of magpies is just as unpleasant as our crow caws.

wǒ men shēn shàng yǒu zhe de hēi sè yǔ máo nǐ men yě tóng yàng yōng yǒu ，wǒ men jī hū zháng de méi yǒu fēn bié ，

我们身上有着的黑色羽毛你们也同样拥有，我们几乎长的没有分别，

We both have black feathers, and our appearances are almost indistinguishable.

kě shì rén lèi què bǎ nǐ men fèng wèi jí xiáng de xiàng zhēng ， bǎ huò duān quán guī jiù zài wǒ men de shēn shàng ，

可是人类确把你们奉为吉祥的象征，把祸端全归咎在我们的身上，

Yet, humans consider you magpies as symbols of good luck, blaming all misfortunes on us crows.

nǐ men jiào shēng jiù shì bào xǐ ， ér wǒ men de jiào shēng jiù shì bù xiáng 。 ”

你们叫声就是报喜，而我们的叫声就是不祥。”

Your calls are seen as auspicious, while ours are deemed inauspicious."

xǐ què zài yī páng yōu zāi de shuō ：“ wǒ men xǐ què zhī suǒ yǐ bèi rén fèng wèi jí xiáng de xiàng zhēng ， shì yīn wèi wǒ men bú huì bǎ bǎo guì de shí jiān làng fèi zài bào yuàn shàng ， wǒ men měi tiān hái yào qín qín kěn kěn de shēng huó ，

喜鹊在一旁悠哉的说：“我们喜鹊之所以被人奉为吉祥的象征，是因为我们不会把宝贵的时间浪费在抱怨上，我们每天还要勤勤恳恳的生活，
